Violation of rules
Violation of any of these rules may be handled in the following ways
Special Note
- No running
- No ball playing in the grass
- No horseplay in or out of the pool
- No foul language
- No spitting
- No “can-openers,” “seaters,” or any dive in which the diver’s head is toward the edge of the pool are allowed from the deck
- No ball under 4 inches in diameter is allowed in the pool
- No koosh balls
- No glass containers allowed inside the pool area
- Keep the kids off the rope
- Baby pool is for children 5 and under
- Keep balls and toys off the rain tree
- No diving into shallow water – red and black zones
- No alcoholic beverages on PMPA property
Sliding area
- Keep the sliding area clear – the black square
- User must go down the slide sitting upright, facing front
- No balls, toys, etc are allowed on the slide
Diving area
- Always keep diving area clear
- One person on the board at a time
- No hanging under the low board supports
- No goggles or balls allowed in the diving area
- Children must be able to swim across the pool on top of the water, without any struggle or difficult before they are allowed past the 4 ½ foot rope
- Positively no “peeling” is allowed off the boards
Violation of rules
Violation of any of these rules may be handled in the following ways
- Verbal warning
- Benching
- Ejection for the pool
Special Note
- In the event of a thunderstorm, the pool is to be cleared of all swimmers. All patrons are to go to the grass area behind the benches. In the event of lightning, all persons are to go to or in the bath house or leave the Palmerton Memorial Pool.
- All the above could be called common sense rules of honesty, common decency, general conduct and friendliness, which are always necessary when a large group of people work together. The above rules do not attempt to cover all situations that might arise. Acts which are generally not acceptable elsewhere cannot be acceptable here. In conclusion, it is good to remember that any action is an offense if it is detrimental to the Palmerton Memorial Park Association and its employees.
